Dr. Tariq Bin Khadem: Celebrating the Emirati Women’s Day Reflects Appreciation of Their Status and Recognition of the Importance of Their Role

H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, confirmed that the State celebration of the Emirati Women’s date, which falls on August 28th of each year, reflects an appreciation of the women’s status and a recognition of the importance of their role. This special occasion comes to highlight the contributions and dedication of Emirati women since the founding of the UAE in maintaining trust and bearing the responsibility to build our dear country.
His Excellency stated that the government of the United Arab Emirates was aware since the beginning that building civilization could not be achieved without the contribution of the active pole represented by women. Therefore, the government laid down future strategies including the adaptation of circumstances and capabilities to deepen women’s contribution in making more gains.
He also added the following: “Emirati Women adopted the same approach set by the Founder, the late father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, to reap the fruits of this clear and conscious approach. This wise vision was realized and women has become present in all fields, sectors and high positions as they contribute to achievements and decision-making.”
Furthermore, Emirati women in the Emirate of Sharjah have unlimited support from his highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, may Allah protect him, and his wife Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for family affairs in Sharjah.
The Emirate has adopted all the initiatives, activities and decisions that enhance the women’s role in all fields of life. Human Development plans in the Emirate were based on enhancing women’s participation in all fields. All efforts have been united to assist her in assuming this function in parallel with her pivotal role in the first nucleus of society which is family. Women were given rights in leadership positions and many decisions were issued to help them overcome all the barriers in order to keep on giving and excelling.
His Excellency congratulated all the female employees at all the departments, institutions and entities of the government of Sharjah and wished them further excellence and giving in the service of our dear country, as well as rising in their careers to the highest levels. He has not forgotten also to praise their contributions to the enhancement of the progress of work and the qualitative leaps and achievements on the governmental work level.
